Tofu is so versatile and can be used as a substitute for many other protein sources, so it’s especially great for veggies! But making tofu tasty can be tricky to master. Here’s how I do it…
1. Firm tofu
2. Sesame oil
3. Garlic powder
4. Soy sauce
1. Drain the tofu block and place it in between two sheets of kitchen paper or two tea towels. Place a plate on top and something fairly heavy, such as a book, on top of that to add some pressure. This will help to gently press the remaining water out.
2. After a while remove the tofu and chop into chunks.
3. Season with garlic powder, soy sauce and add any other other seasonings of your fancy.
4. Heat some sesame oil in a pan and fry the tofu until it becomes golden in colour.
And voila! You’re ready to serve. This tofu is so versatile you can add it to so many dishes. I love this added to vegan ramen, as a topping to salads, with stir fry, or mixed with veg such as broccoli with extra soy sauce.
